"From the moment I was crowned Miss Delaware, I started imagining what my Miss America experience would be, and the one thing I immediately knew and didn't have to question was that I wanted Crowning Choreography to create my talent piece for Miss America. From the planning stage, to choreographing, practicing, and supporting me during the actual competition, Brooke was the perfect coach. She worked with me to find a piece that would be challenging for me, yet something I would be comfortable performing. As we worked on the dance over time I saw how she would tweak certain parts to make sure it truly was perfect, each time making sure it matched with what I ultimately wanted. "For the past several years, The Miss Delaware Scholarship Organization has been fortunate to engage the services of Brooke Mitchell to serve as producer and choreographer for the teen and miss statewide competitions. This could have been challenging since many of the competitors were not trained dancers. Instead, Brooke made each feel comfortable and confident, and the shows went off without a hitch.

Brooke's duties included choosing a theme, selecting music that fit the theme, deciding on outfits for the production numbers, choreographing opening and closing numbers, offering advice on candidate talents, running rehearsals, recording dance numbers, coordinating the backgrounds and sound with the technical crew, and so forth.

All candidates bought into Brooke's vision for the shows because Brooke made each participant feel important. She worked well with everyone, including young girls who had production numbers in our shows. She consulted with us when necessary and made great production suggestions. Brooke worked with us on the show run and she included special walking patterns for the girls when needed. She was personal and professional, and we really enjoyed working with her!"

"Brooke was our wonderful color guard coach for my junior and senior year of high school. The first year we started out with only 5 members but we tripped that size the following year. Nonetheless, Brooke always pushed us because she knew our potential even when we doubted ourselves especially when most of our team each year were beginners who had never touched a flag. As color guard captain both years I worked especially closely with Brooke to lead, teach, and perform with the Indian River High School Colorguard. She was a wonderful choreographer and took us from a beginner level group to a group who could spin under flags when we tossed them in the air, chuck flags across the field to be caught, and create intricate stories with only our equipment and bodies. Every week, Brooke would come bubbling with excitement as she had envisioned a new set of choreography and drill she was eager to see come to life. She coordinated the routines and drill for football half time shows, parades, and she had such an incredible devotion to what she does that she even choreographed and taught us two intricate winter guard level routines for us to perform at Indian River High School's fall and spring pep rallies. My favorite performance was to Pushin On by 2WEI. I had never done an indoor guard performance before but it was such a wonderful experience and it helped me to grow so much as a performer. Brooke is such an incredible teacher who has an immense devotion to her work!"

"Brooke was my color guard coach my Junior and Senior years of high school. I have never met anyone so dedicated to what she does. What I loved about having her as a coach was that she was always pushng us to try new things that we would've never tried ourselves. I was scared of rifle at first but she put me on it for the first ever pep rally performance we did and it's now one of my favorites! She also choreographed the best routines for our filed shows and was so so creative with it- my junior year I remember we threw our flags across the field at each other, it was so cool. Not to mention she is so easy and awesome to work with!!! I loved my time as her student and she truly saved the IRMB Color Guard."
